Our social events consist of potlucks, educational events, campaign-related events, and organizational collaborations with other Chicago based organizations.

Some of our past events have included Queer Asian American Archive celebrations, Pod-mapping 101 and Transformative Justice 101 as part of our Transformative Justice series, banner-making activities, Speed Dating/Friending Nights, and more! We have a flexible rotating cycle of event types and we continue to create new event ideas based on circumstance.

Our recurring potlucks are hosted at different member’s residences throughout Chicago (pre-Covid). Now, we host virtual events like Zoom Potlucks and our online Lunar New Year Celebration centered on building community through the virtual space.

i2i supports and collaborates with community organizations that align with our values and work on campaigns to advance systemic change to improve the lives of marginalized communities in the Chicago area and worldwide. Examples include:

Events are open to current and new i2i members, supporters, allies, and friends (if not, we will specify in the event descriptions). We also organize and participate in special events, like Lunar New Year Parade, Chicago Dyke March, Chicago Community Catalyst Awards with NQAPIA (National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance) and Trikone Chicago, and i2i General Member Retreats.
